Dr. James Gant

MD FAAP

Dr. Gant founded Onslow Pediatric Associates in 1988 after serving 5 years in the US Air Force. His medical school training was at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. His residency in Pediatrics was at the esteemed program at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Tx. Dr. Gant is married with 3 children and 10 grandchildren. He has children with ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Asthma, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Eczema and has a grandson with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Through his training and personal family experiences, he has become highly adept at the treatment of these disorders as well as many others.

Dr. Gant is board certified in pediatrics and is currently on staff at the medical schools of Wake Forest University, East Carolina University, and UNC Chapel Hill, where his responsibilities include teaching medical students at all levels. His chief goal is to provide up-to-date, patient centered quality care to all patients and parents in a friendly and loving environment where the children feel that we care for them as individuals. Dr. Gant enjoys hunting, fishing, playing the trumpet and other musical instruments, singing in church choir, and attending Enon Chapel Baptist church where he is a member. Dr. Gant is currently on staff at Onslow Memorial Hospital

Dr. Max D. Gucilatar

MD FAAP

Max D. Gucilatar, MD, FAAP, otherwise known as Dr. Max, is a graduate of Manila Central University School of Medicine in the Philippines, Class of 1987. He trained in Pediatrics at King-Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, where he received distinguished leadership awards during his Pediatric and General Surgery Residency program. Dr. Max is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has been practicing General Pediatrics since 2005 and was a General Surgeon in the Philippines. He has been a member of Medici Omnes Duciens Fraternity since 1983 and was an officer in the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center until he migrated to the United States.

Dr. Max joined Onslow Pediatric Associates in 2010 to continue his dream and share his treasured experience in forming and maintaining strong relationships with the community, patients, and interdisciplinary teams. He is a dedicated Pediatrician with extensive experience in well and sick care of pediatric patients from newborn to 18+ years of age. He is personable, compassionate, and able to relate to a wide range of patients, parents, and staff, to help improve the health and well-being of every patient. 

Dr. Max enjoys outdoor activities and traveling. He enjoys playing golf, cycling, archery, and fishing.  Most of all, he enjoys food, since all of his family loves to cook and his son is a chef. He has a daughter that enjoys pole sport and competes in pole fitness competitions. His family enjoys playing cards at home while their two overweight Shih Tzus, Tito 10 years old and Iggy 8 years old, watch waiting patiently for snacks to be given to them.

Haunna Birdsey

PA-C

Ms. Haunna Bridsey has had the pleasure of working at OPA some time now and has thoroughly enjoyed caring for the children of Jacksonville.  A Pennsylvania native she graduated with Honors from the University of Lock Haven with her Bachelors in Science and Masters of Health Science.  She is an avid outdoors woman spending most weekends in her kayak, competing in mud runs, or at the archery range.  The daughter of an Army colonel she is a proud supporter of our military families.

Georgia Plum

MS, Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Georgia graduated from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, School of Nursing in 1992, with a Master’s Degree in Science.  She is originally from Hagerstown, MD, but moved to the south in 2013 to live in a warmer climate.  She arrived in Jacksonville, NC at OPA in October of  2015.  She has 2 daughters, 1 grand-daughter, and a Golden Retriever.  Georgia is a huge Maryland sports fanatic, from the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens, to the U of Maryland, Terps.  She enjoys going to the beach and reading.  Her interest in Pediatrics include well child, behavior, ADHD, and Asthma.
